It’s a few weeks now since we revealed BLOODHOUND SSC to a global audience at East Wintergarden in London’s Canary Wharf.

The media response on the Thursday (24th September) was truly stunning! It kicked off on BBC Breakfast TV and culminated in the record attempt date being announced live on the 6 O’Clock News, which in live news PR terms is the top of Everest!

It’s a pretty good feeling to see all those parts come together for the first time as we do a ‘dry build’ of BLOODHOUND

With BLOODHOUND’s rear uprights now in hand, the last large parts of the rear suspension which link to these stunning uprights are about to ship to the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre.

“Watching paint dry? It’s far more exciting when it’s a supersonic car!”

It’s almost the end of April, the Easter disruption has cleared and we’re now making the final push to complete all the components and support equipment needed to get BLOODHOUND SSC on its wheels and on the ground.

It’s the middle of February 2015 and I realise I’m guilty of not stopping to write my blog for a while! In my defence it’s been an extraordinary few months: our very high work rate has ratcheted up even further, in a way none of us could foresee....

At 1,000mph = 175 spins per second – did wheel hold together?

My first photo (above)…it’s like a scene from a deep space science fiction movie, isn’t it? But this isn’t science fiction, it’s science fact!

Let me tell you about the goat’s head that’s worth more than a garage full of your favourite supercars….

This particular ‘goat’s head’ is actually the hardest working, land-based vehicle suspension component in human history!

As a team we have a good or bad habit (depending on your viewpoint) of giving key assemblies for Bloodhound SSC nicknames.

Conor La Grue's March blog

It’s late in February as I write this update and the year is off to a flying start. The continued design release, manufacture and assembly of the components for BLOODHOUND SSC is progressing at great pace.

The titanium skins for the rear upper chassis crown sections are in place. The panel drill-off is starting to happen well ahead of schedule, which is great news.

It’s December and, as I look back on 2013, what is amazing is not just how quickly it’s passed, but also how much the BLOODHOUND team has accomplished. On the whole it’s been our most productive 12 months ever and there is a lot to celebrate.
