• Lord Mayor launches campaign to have ‘Engineered in Bristol’ on the ultimate racing car
• £10 donation to add your name to the supersonic car’s tail fin

Today, at the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre, Bristol, the Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Bristol, Geoffrey Gollop, became the fastest Mayor in history when he added his name to the tail fin of the BLOODHOUND Super Sonic Car.

Already 10,000 fans from around the world have added their names to the fin and he urges 10,000 fellow Bristolians to join him and get “Engineered in Bristol” on the supersonic car’s livery.

Bristol has a rich history in engineering with Brunel’s ss Great Britain sitting in the heart of the city and the British Aerospace industry making its home here. The world beating jet and rocket powered car that is being designed and engineered on Bristol’s harborside is a great symbol for modern, high tech engineering that the city can be proud of.

“BLOODHOUND represents the best of Bristol's high tech engineering and their education programme is truly inspiring,” said the Right Honourable Lord Mayor, Geoffrey Gollop. “Join me and put your name on the fin, and become a part of history.”

BLOODHOUND fans who couldn’t attend the event can still be part of the adventure when they sign up online to add their names to the 1,000 mph car’s tail fin online,
