When Bentley C of E Primary School in Hampshire had to change the date of its Science Day, the BLOODHOUND Ambassadors decided to capitalise on their availability and suggested visits to alternative local schools instead. Thus Binsted C of E Primary School and Andrews Endowed C of E Primary School in Holybourne were the lucky beneficiaries of the last minute change of plan and BLOODHOUND ambassadors ended up visiting three schools instead of the one originally planned.

Binsted School quickly created a Science day in which all children participated. The BLOODHOUND K'NEX rocket car design, build and test sessions in the morning were a great hit with the children of varying ages from Year 3 to 6.

Then St Andrews School was visited by the BLOODHOUND Ambassadors in the afternoon, with the whole of Year 6 taking part in an equally successful session. Prizes were awarded for the best aesthetic design and for the car which went the straightest and furthest.

Bentley School eventually ran its Science day a month later, with four BLOODHOUND K'NEX rocket car sessions for 128 children from Years 3 to 6.

Spreading the BLOODHOUND news

A further unplanned benefit of this change of plan is that other schools in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire now know about the BLOODHOUND project and are looking for Ambassadors to come to their schools to inspire the pupils in the coming year.

Rural village schools really value this kind of support, since they do not often get the same opportunities as schools in towns and cities. BLOODHOUND Ambassadors please stand by for the call!
