Our Science Day was kicked off with a bang thanks to Roger Hoyle and Robin Hines two of the Bloodhound Ambassadors. With the theme of ‘Move It’ and the suggestion of involving Bloodhound from one of our Year 5 pupils, Adam, it was set to be a brilliant day.
It all started with an assembly about the car and project which, along with the amazing facts, really inspired the Juniors. We then all set to work building the infamous balloon powered cars. Roger and Robin were a great help at this point supporting everyone with their builds, answering questions and giving the all-important tips to help each car travel the furthest.
It then came to the racing where the whole school gathered to watch as the Juniors raced against their fellow classmates to find their best car. There was great excitement as the final drew near and the winners from each class were poised at the start line. With a countdown from the ambassadors the finalists were off. It was a close race however having travelled the furthest distance the creators of the winning car, Lili-May, Solomon and Murphy were delighted with their win.
The day was a huge success and there is still a Bloodhound Buzz around the school. The passion and enthusiasm of Roger and Robin really rubbed off on the children. There was great excitement throughout the school and Science Day 2012 will always be remembered.
