Bloodhound Visits Nottinghamshire

Education News
Tuesday, 11 December, 2012

The Bloodhound Education Team has just spent a fantastic month in Nottinghamshire, thanks to the support of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Following an exciting launch week with events at County Hall, The National Water Sports Centre and Rufford Abbey Country Park with the Bloodhound Show Car and lots of exciting hands-on activities, we set up shop in some of the colleges around Nottinghamshire and were visited by some very enthusiastic school children!

Almost 2000 students have had the opportunity to learn about Bloodhound SSC, to design our desert Base Camp in South Africa (for when we take the car out to the Hakskeen Pan to do the World Land Speed Record attempt) and to build their own rocket cars!

Some very lucky groups of students who were extremely creative and worked really hard planning our Base Camp will be getting their names put on the fin of the car.  (Yes, really!)  We’ll be in touch shortly to let you know who you are!

Did you come along?  Has your school signed up?  We’d love to hear from you – website@bloodhoundssc.com

Are you waiting for the Bloodhound Team to come to your area?  We are slowly but surely working our way around the country.  So watch this space!

A big thank you to the lovely people at the following colleges for hosting us during our visit to Nottinghamshire:

Vision West Nottinghamshire College, Newark College, North Nottinghamshire College and South Nottinghamshire College.
