FIA and BLOODHOUND thank desert community with one year to go

One year before BLOODHOUND’s first World Land Speed Record attempt at Hakskeen Pan, the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) has presented certificates of recognition to over 300 members of the local Mier community, for their work removing 16,000 tonnes of rock from 22 million square metres of dry lake bed; the largest area of land ever cleared by hand for a motorsports activity. Their amazing work has been a vital part of building the world’s fastest race track and means that next year Andy Green can drive BLOODHOUND SSC at over 800mph in Northern Cape, South Africa, without worrying about a single stray rock damaging the Car.
