Reconnaissance via satellite
"Time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted" is a 2000-year-old military quote which is still true today, writes Andy Green in his latest diary entry. For BLOODHOUND that means understanding everything about the weather patterns at Hakskeen Pan where BLOODHOUND will make its record-breaking runs. Andy explains how satellites are helping us do that and what he learned when he visited Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd to thank them for their support.
Enjoy the Rocket Car Experience!
We have had a fantastic response to the recent Rocket Car Experiences run by the BLOODHOUND Education Team at the Technical Centre in Avonmouth, near Bristol [Editor’s note: "I went with my daughter during half-term and it’s brilliant!"].
Parents and children can enjoy unique, entertaining interactive presentations and see the real BLOODHOUND Car, and then the kids can build their own rocket car and go home with a goodie bag. Workshops are running on most weekdays in the school Easter holidays. Book your places now.
Educating Britain
The primary objective for the BLOODHOUND Project has always been to inspire the next generation to explore and enjoy science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), and every week our fantastic Education Team and Ambassadors do just that. Highlights of last month included over 800 pupils from 22 schools across Cornwall being inspired by BLOODHOUND at Truro High School in two days, while our team were training Rocket Car Hub practitioners at the other end of the country in Scotland. (That’s just 51 minutes apart in BLOODHOUND time!)
