Latest Car news

As the Team continues to work on BLOODHOUND, it’s all go at the workshop:

  • The pitot tube adaptor has been fitted to the tailfin, which, along with the Rolex GPS speedo, will tell us exactly how fast the Car is going.
  • The front disc bells have also arrived to connect the brake discs to the hubs.
  • The upper chassis was marked up and sent off for painting – and now looks stunning!

Following the successful test of the jet fuel systems last month, the team is preparing to sign off the ‘jet start systems’, which will include testing the jet start kart, the AMAD gearbox and the avionics – all of which will be used for starting up the EJ200 jet engine.

For more frequent updates on the Car’s progress, follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

Build a Rocket Car

During February’s half term holiday we’re running our fun-filled Rocket Car Experience workshops again at the BLOODHOUND Technical Centre in Avonmouth, near Bristol. The whole family can enjoy interactive presentations and see the parts that will form the real BLOODHOUND Car, and then the kids can each build their own rocket car and see it whizz down the runway! There are workshops on 17th and 24th February. Numbers are limited, however, so book now!
