As part of the ongoing investment to keep Impcross at the forefront of precision engineering, new machines have recently been added to the production facilities. They are a Matsuura VX-1500 with 4th axis, a Mazak VARIAXIS i-700 and a Mazak INTEGREX i-100ST with second spindle and lower turret.

Impcross and BLOODHOUND SSC

BLOODHOUND isn't just about a 1,000mph rocket and jet car, but inspiring the next generation about science, technology, engineering and mathematics - and this is where Impcross comes in.

Like BLOODHOUND, Impcross is committed to furthering education and has a growing Apprenticeship Scheme at its Stroud-based precision engineering centre. Becoming a BLOODHOUND SSC product sponsor was a great opportunity to enhance their Apprenticeship programme with direct involvement in this exciting engineering project.

Alex Jewell (pictured right), an Impcross apprentice, has been involved in manufacturing parts for BLOODHOUND SSC and will be present at the Newquay test runs to witness the car running with the parts he produced.

Alex said, "When I joined Impcross as an apprentice I certainly didn't expect to be working on something as famous as BLOODHOUND SSC - and seeing the car in action will be amazing."
